Methodology
ExactUtility calculators show formulas and assumptions where practical. Results are intended for general informational use and should be independently verified for high-stakes decisions.
Verification notes
ExactUtility calculations are checked against standard mathematical definitions and authoritative references where appropriate. Measurement conversions use NIST conversion factors. Adult BMI follows CDC formulas and categories. Resting energy estimates use the Mifflin–St Jeor equation; activity factors used in the TDEE tool follow the NCBI Endotext reference table. Financial projections are estimates and state their assumptions; loan payments cover principal and interest only unless otherwise stated.
Publishing policy
Flagship calculators receive deeper formula and assumption explanations. Supporting tools focus on a narrow adjacent task. Intent pages are created only for recurring, meaningful task patterns rather than arbitrary value permutations.
Health and finance calculators are informational formula-based estimates. ExactUtility avoids diagnostic, medication, tax-compliance, or personalized investment recommendations as part of its general-purpose tool collection.
Image processing is browser-side where supported; files are not intentionally uploaded to the ExactUtility server by these tools.
